New Ventures

Study/Travel Program

It is the hope of Msalato Theological College to establish a Center for African Studies on the Campus. Part of the mission of this new center is to offer residential courses for clergy, seminarians, lay persons and youth groups to visit Africa and learn first hand about how ministry and mission is happening from an African Anglican perspective.

Friends of Msalato International will coordinate the study/travel programs. The program will offer 10 days in Africa, with lectures, worship, theological discussions, visits to local churches, and visits to outreach ministries.

There will be opportunity to go on safari to Ruhaha National Game Park, and visit the island of Zanzibar.

So - we invite you to "See Africa with a Friend"

Further details to come - on dates and costs, and proposed itinerary.

Conferences

It is hoped that Msalato Theological College will hold an annual theology conferences for scholars from Africa and abroad. We have invited Dr. Elliott to be one of the keynote speakers at our first conference, tentatively scheduled for early 2008.

We are looking for seed money/grant to be able to cover the cost of food, board, and transportation for our African faculty, many of whom will have to travel from Ghana, Kenya, S. Africa, and Uganda. The amount will be in the range of US$ 5000.00

Campus Maintenance

Beautification of our campus, while being partially included in the category of maintenance, is mostly a new venture. Landscape planning and planting of appropriate trees/plants/flowers along with kibandas and flower gardens and shrubbery would enhance not only the aesthetics of the place but our spirits as well. This, at least initially, would require hiring someone with knowledge of gardening in this area.
